JOHNSTOWN - The old First National Bank on Ferndale Avenue in Johnstown closed over a year ago and has now reopened as a coffee shop. After about a year of renovations, The Morning Grind Coffee House has been open for about three weeks. The shop is in the middle of a "soft open" in order to test what customers like. 3 Munson men charged for sexually abusing animals

MUNSON – Pennsylvania state police served a search warrant Saturday after reports of animal abuse in Clearfield County. According the official, the three men have been having sexual intercourse with animals. District attorney Bill Shaw said the charges are part of an ongoing investigation into the abuse of animals. “This is an unpleasant topic, but the facts are that we received a report of folks having sexual intercourse with animals, farm animals,” Shaw said.

Crews battle overnight fire at Johnstown metal supplier

JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — According to Cambria County dispatchers, several crews battled an overnight fire at a Johnstown metal supplier. Officials say the fire broke out around 11:30 p.m. Friday at the North American Hoganas building, located at 101 Bridge Street. Johnstown Fire Chief Bob Statler says the fire occurred inside the building. Crews from Johnstown, Richland, West Hills, Greensburg and Latrobe were all on scene to assist. No injuries have been reported.

Electric rates could go up by request of FirstEnergy

An official with FirstEnergy said energy rates going up is not a done deal, but they are looking to have the prices raised next January. This would be the first time Penelec has raised its base rate since 2017 according to a spokesman Todd Meyers. Companies like Penelec and West Penn Power cannot just raise their rates according to Meyers. He said they must request that change to the p-a public utility commission.

PITTSBURGH – Pirates fans will soon be able to relive one of the greatest moment in the franchise’s history thanks to a donation to the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum.
