Gen Z men opting out of the dating scene

WASHINGTON (TND) — New research shows romantic relationships are a rapidly disappearing part of the American teenage experience with nearly half of Generation Z men opting not to date, according to research fromthe Survey Center on American Life. Gen Z men are a lot different than older generations. Only 32% of millennial men, 23% of Gen X men, and just 20% of Baby Boomer men did not date during their teenage years.

Huntingdon police K9 to receive donation of body armor

Huntingdon Co., PA (WJAC) — The Huntingdon Borough Police Department announced on social media Friday that its K9 unit will be receiving a donation of body armor from a nationally recognized nonprofit. Officials say K9 Tony will soon be equipped with a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a donation from Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. The organization, which was established in 2009, says its mission is to "provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States.

Troopers catch Blair County pair wanted in attempted homicide investigation

ORIGINAL STORY:State Police are searching for a Blair County man and woman wanted in connection to an attempted homicide incident. Troopers say the incident happened Sunday around 8:30 p.m. in Frankstown Township. According to a release, 30-year-old Caleb Lanzendorfer, of Roaring Spring, got into a fight with a man at a home along Huntingdon Pike.

CFA announces over $425K in funding for dozens of area nonprofits

This week, the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies announced more than $425,000 in funding for local nonprofits. The funding was announced at two separate events this week. The foundation announced more than $225,000 in funding for its spring recipients. First, on Wednesday, at the Somerset Historical Center, the organization recognized 14 projects in Somerset County receiving grants. Then on Thursday, at the Everett Free Library, eleven nonprofit groups were recognized for getting nearly $43,000 in funding.

Districts struggling to hire bus drivers as students head back to school
